Wow, it is hard..."Happy Work Life" was floating around my mind the past few days, and then starting the subtitle with "Balancing..." Plays on work-life balance. But balancing what?

Another one, based on your paragraphs about play: "Making workers players."

I worry about the "kick butt." I know what you mean, but it is easy to misinterpret as "kick butt and take names"-- being aggressive with people, managing through fear, etc.

Also would be nice to get the word "engagement" in there somehow... all the Gallup research about how engagement correlates to higher productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee retention. They emphasize the importance of a best friend at work...

I like your bullets in the text: "Information, Tools, and Motivation for Making Work Happy." Something like that could work.

What the heck... maybe you should just call it Arbejdsglæde. Volkswagen got away with using Farfegnugen (or however you spell it) in a US add campaign, and it caught on. There is a message in teh fact that there is not an English word for the concept!

Hey Alexander,

I've been looking at your posts and came up with this as a potential title and hookline for the book....

"Happy at Work: in/a perputual beta for exploring employment enjoyment"

"happy hour is 9 to 5"

subtitle - the kick butt one. It's got a little bit of attitude, and it doesn't conform to people's expectations for a book about how to work. This shows you've already achieved what your readers desire for themselves, you have the power to do what you want and it seems like you are having fun.

"Happiness is a place to work." (Reinier)

Good suggestion.
That immediately struck a chord in me, it just sounded right. I'm behind that one all the way.
