You… are great!
I love this fun little movie called Validation. At 15 minutes, it’s a little longer than your standard oh-my-god-what-a-cute-kitten video, but it’s definitely worth it.

[...] This short film called “Validation” made me smile, laugh, and cry. Plus it stars TJ Thyne, who plays Hodgins on “Bones”! Thanks, Chief Happiness Officer! [...]

Chief Happiness Officer,
You are great! You help people see the bright side of life and work. You help employees be better, managers be better, and workplaces friendlier.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this video and all that you do on you blog!
This made me laugh, cry, and smile. Best, though, it reaffirmed the power of the direct, detailed and sincere compliment.

Marijn: So how was your smiling Monday?
Aida: Thanks :o)
Squish: THANKS!!!!! :o) And you make a great point in emphasising that this is about direct, specific and (above all) sincere appreciation.

Thank you so much for posting this video! It made me feel happy!
The next day at work I thought about it and validated the people who really make a difference in my office and I got such wonderful feedback. People like to be appreciated for their efforts. It’s good to be reminded of that.
Thanks again :-)

Once again Alexander, you have given me inspiration. Thank you so much. I posted ages ago about a job I was in, i had moved from an unhappy situation with all excitement and enthusiasm to yet another one and the people are lovely but the work dull and absolutely no recognition for work well done or going the extra mile…..and I realised that I don’t want to spend the rest of my working life doing work that I just dont like and have to force myself to do. I have tried to make it better and 2 and a quater years is long enough. So when I read your post today about the letter from the boss to the new employee, I realised that is what i would wish. I like the bit about mistakes,,
Thank you!
