I’m getting married :o)

Today’s big news has nothing to do with happiness at work and everything to do with happiness in life: This weekend I proposed to my wonderful girlfriend Patricia and she said yes.

Here are some pictures. Yes, I’m wearing an Elvis costume – it was a Vegas party :o)

We will marry October 1st. 2009 – in Las Vegas. Woooo-hoooooooooooooooo :o)

  1. Congrats! Now you can multiply the happiness. Here are eight thoughts to help insure marital bliss:
    1. Marriage and family are not the goal of life. The goal of life is to be one with God. Marriage and family are ways to achieve that goal.

    2. Since your true self is the soul, it

  2. She’s lucky to have so much happiness in her life… you’re lucky she saw past the craziness… :o)

    Congratulations :)

  3. Congrats! As a newlywed (2 months on Thurs!) I know this is a thrilling, exciting, amazing, scary, stressful time! Just make sure you go on that ride together and don’t let anyone tell you what you “have” to do. Keep those 2 simple things in mind & you’ll have an incredible year (& the wedding of your dreams!).

    Best,
    Michelle

  4. Hi Alex and Patricia…

    Congratulations on your engagement!

I want to say that it was by reading one of your posts that I first heard about Laughter Yoga. Then I went to the LY training with Dr. Kataria and there I met my wife :o)

So you are my Chief Happiness “Elvis” Cupid!

Wish you both HAPPINESS and JOY in both Life and Business.

    Cheers,

    Monnet & Jorge

  5. Wow Alex!
Congratulations on your engagement. The pictures are so good, and the looks on both your faces say it all. Enjoy the planning, the wedding and especially each other.
    In Love and Friendship,
    Paul

  6. Congratulations Alex!!

MAX WEIMAN: Could you please expand on your first point for all of us. I’ve heard many times that marriage and family are essential for spiritual growth, but I haven’t completely understood how. Thank you!!

  7. Congratulations!!

Also got engaged recently and getting married in March next year.

Someone much wiser than I am once reminded me that Love is a verb not just a feeling, so it about what you do everyday not just how you feel.

Hope all the wedding planning goes well.

  8. Alex,

Reading this news today is a HappyUP!!! for me! I’m thrilled for you. Unless my day is over the top, I can’t see where this HappyUP!!! wouldn’t make my top three for the day!

Congratulations…..I’m only an hour from Vegas. Keep that in mind when the date gets closer.

    Scott

  10. Hi Alex!

Congratulations to you and your beautiful bride! May your lives be rich with love, laughter, heath, happiness, prosperity, and
‘ lots and lots of bambinos’ ( as my grandfather who celebrated his 70th Wedding Annniversay last week would say).
I’d like to pass on his secret to a happy and successful marriage………….two simple things really.
    1. Respect one another
    2. Communicate, communicate, communicate about EVERYTHING!

  11. Being the Dutch translotor of your book, I feel the desire to put my personal congrats in the beautiful;-) Dutch language:

beste Alex, veel zon op je pad samen met je vrouw!

  12. Congratulations to you both!

My partner proposed to me just a week after your proposal. He didn’t wear an Elvis suit (it was at the drycleaners!), but he did get down on one knee in the North Sea!

Looks like we’ll both have weddings to plan this year (we’re getting married a month after you). Had any interesting ideas for the big day yet? We’re keeping the day small and fun! Ideas we’ve had so far include giving everyone ice cream instead wedding cake – a bit mad in Scotland in Winter, but we don’t care! :-)
