Since I’m in the US, will this be recorded and a video be available to watch? I’d love to be able to see this.
Cool! Will it be available on video?
Yes – we will film this and put it online. But only if I win, of course :o)
Was gonna ask the same questions – thanks for making it available (and also for winning)!
Awesome! Hoping to see the video (also assuming you won, i can’t imagine otherwise!).
Part of the issue here is simply “What is happiness?” We all have different definitions. Some of us are happy in a cubicle, some people die if they aren’t in front of clients….
An interesting approach, but I don’t think that it can be implemented in practice. Unless companies are focused on their main purpose, they cannot compete in the long term. If you shift the purpose to “producing happiness,” it becomes impossible to make rational decisions. One man’s happiness is often another man’s irritation. I don’t think that the ideas in the article are workable, although I enjoyed reading it.
I’m UK based and can say that I honestly do think happiness is a key part of working and that it pays overall. If I wasn’t happy in my job I think that my performance would deteriorate as after all I wouldn’t want to be there.
